Feng Chia University Cloud Innovation School Trained Hsien-Li Chen won the championship of 2021 AWS GameDay Quests Game.
Feng Chia Cloud Innovation School trained participant Hsien-Li Chen, a senior in the Information Technology Department at Ming Dao Middle School, won the AWS GameDay: Quests Game at the AWS re: Invent 2021 conference on November 30, 2011, with 23,311.69 points, significantly ahead of the second-place finisher by more than 5,000 points. Unlike the other participants, Chen was the only student among the participants in the event, which made the GameDay team very impressed by the strength of the Taiwanese students!
AWS re: Invent is the annual event organized by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is the world's largest cloud computing event. AWS re: Invent 2021, held November 29-December 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada, attracted tens of thousands of attendees to the 10th anniversary of re: Invent. The AWS GameDay event is a team-based interactive learning exercise developed by AWS to provide participating players with the opportunity to practice their AWS skills in a realistic, gamified, risk-free environment.
Quests Game is the first official activity, unlike the previous year, the Quests Game this year is an individual challenge. 20 Quests questions included a variety of topics, system maintenance, chaos engineering, data analysis, information security, machine learning, disaster preparedness, cloud architecture optimization, etc. School learning is step-by-step instructions, the AWS Game is an interactive learning exercise without instructions. AWS GameDay is known for its Hands-on real problem solving, as a chain of practical work. Participants are required to evaluate, choose the services, and consider traffic response and cost strategies within a limited time frame.
In September 2020, Chen participated in the Taichung City Government Education Bureau, Taichung High School of Engineering, and Feng Chia University's Cloud Innovation School's Cloud Service Talent Training Program. After winning third place in the 51st National Skills Competition in the Cloud Computing category in April 2021, he obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner license and the AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate license in June won first place in the 51st National Skills Competition in the Cloud Computing category in October. According to Ms. Shu-mei Lee, during his learning cloud services and the 2-hour problem-solving time of Quests Game, Chen remained highly motivated and engaged, this is his key to this victory.
