Message from the head of Program
First of all, I’m truly happy that fate has brought us together in BIBA, a fully English-taught learning environment. No matter where you come from, let us cherish this cross-cultural learning opportunity together.
In addition, starting from the 2021 academic year, BIBA has officially returned to the College of Business as an undergraduate degree program under the college. Its full name is “Bachelor’s Degree Program in International Business Administration (English-Taught), College of Business”, commonly referred to as International Business BIBA.
In the current 2020 academic year, BIBA has also undergone many adjustments, with the goal of achieving “Different but Better.”
Regarding “high international mobility” (international perspective, international etiquette, and international adaptability), BIBA collaborates with the university’s Language Center to structure the five-semester college English courses around the four core skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These courses are integrated with the program’s cross-cultural curriculum and delivered through project-based learning (PBL). This approach also prepares students in advance for future applications to international exchange programs or dual-degree programs.
In terms of business expertise, the program builds on the core subjects taken in the first and second years, following a step-by-step curriculum that progresses from foundational to advanced professional courses. In addition, the program has introduced several trend-oriented courses, such as Intelligent Business Applications, Data Science for Business, Social Media and Marketing Strategies, and New Business Models, with the aim of cultivating students’ “Three-C” abilities: innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Importantly, three of these courses—Intelligent Business Applications, International Logistics Management, and International Project Management—are linked with international certification exams (Microsoft Professional Program, International Logistics Management, and International Project Management). The goal is for students to graduate having earned three international certifications.
According to program regulations, BIBA students are required to study abroad during their fourth year. To support this, the program offers students a variety of flexible options, including international exchange programs or dual-degree programs (earning a Feng Chia bachelor’s degree alongside a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a partner foreign university).
The program also encourages students to obtain an additional degree from a foreign institution, especially a master’s degree, to enhance their resumes and career prospects.
Regarding students’ career prospects, the program actively signs agreements with selected partner companies, aiming to ensure that after students complete their studies and return home, they can transition seamlessly into the workforce.
Finally, the program hopes that BIBA students will strive toward the ideal goal of “3 & 3+N + J”, enhancing their personal growth while contributing to the world.
* 3: Three international certifications (Microsoft Professional Program, International Logistics Management, International Project Management)
* 3+N: Feng Chia bachelor’s degree plus a master’s degree from a foreign university, where the duration abroad may be 1, 1.5, or 2 years (denoted as “N”)
* J: Upon returning home after completing their studies, students enter employment with partner companies that have agreements with BIBA
